This fund supports advocacy and legal efforts specifically against the Upper Westside project, proposed for the farm land west of El Centro Road at West El Camino, and extending to the Sacramento River.
Across 2,000 acres, it is estimated at full buildout to have a population of 25,000, the size of Galt, CA, with 3 million square feet of commercial space. To put that in perspective, the Roseville Galleria has only 1.3 million square feet.
The project is proposed for land outside the County’s Urban Services Boundary, on land that is not in the Natomas Basin Habitat Conservation Plan’s “Permit Area” for development.
