Join us for a dynamic, multimodal event highlighting the potential for new transit-oriented housing and mixed-use development along Del Paso Boulevard.

We’ll begin with a walking tour showcasing opportunities around the existing Globe Light Rail Station and the planned Valley Rail station connecting Sacramento to a new and growing train network spanning the Central Valley and Bay Area.

The main event program closes with a series of presentations exploring Del Paso Boulevard’s bright future as a vibrant hub for inclusive economic development and community growth.

Attendees may attend the whole event including tour or arrive in time for presentations. Complimentary refreshments provided.

Walking tour highlighting corridor anchor businesses, growing transit options, and sites of potential new housing and development. With guides from Del Paso Boulevard Partnership and other organizations.

5:30 PM Main event

Speakers from Del Paso Boulevard Partnership, Sacramento Regional Transit, Valley Rail and The City of Sacramento provide engaging multimedia presentations illustrating the history of Del Paso Boulevard and its bright future as a hub for intersecting transit lines and expanded transit-oriented housing. Free refreshments provided.

Now Available: “Improving Safety for Pedestrians and Bicyclists Accessing Transit” Guide

In an effort to improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists accessing transit, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) have released a new guide, which includes a variety of approaches to address common safety issues that are likely to arise near transit stations, bus stops and other places where transit (bus or rail) is operated.

The new guide, Improving Safety for Pedestrians and Bicyclists Accessing Transit, provides agencies with a thorough look at pedestrian and bicyclist safety considerations in accessing and using transit. The guide can help transit agencies, state and local roadway owners, and regional organizations by providing a comprehensive understanding of how to address pedestrian and bicyclist safety concerns related to accessing transit.

UC Davis Transit Research Symposium

The newly-launched UC Davis Transit Research Center is hosting a Transit Research Symposium on May 25 at The UC Davis International Center!

This event will showcase research underway at UC Davis exploring how transit agencies are adopting emerging technologies, the relationship between public transit and shared-use mobility, how COVID-19 has affected transit use and transit agencies, and how land use and other factors contribute to transit use.

The inaugural Transit Research Symposium will advance the dialogue between the UC Davis Transit Research Center public transit stakeholders, practitioners, policy makers, and others. And, by highlighting key policy relevant research outcomes and connecting researchers with policy makers, this event will help inform future work of the growing Transit Research Center.
