Public Meeting – Lower American River Erosion Construction Update (H St to Howe Ave)

The US Army Corps of Engineers is having a virtual public meeting Thursday, May 4 from 5-6 p.m. In this meeting they’ll discuss why the Lower American River Erosion project is needed, how they chose the design, environmental impacts, what to expect during construction, and future work they’ll be doing in the parkway.

They will post the meeting link here on the day of the event or you can sign up for their mailing list by sending an email titled “American River Levee Upgrades email list” to spk-pao[at]usace[dot]army[dot]mil.

City Earth Day Clean-Up Event 4/22

City of Sacramento staff are inviting people to participate in the “Great Sacramento Clean-Up,” a citywide event to clean litter from community locations and waterways.

Clean-ups will happen at several locations on Earth Day, April 22. The event is open to individuals or groups. Minors under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers should wear sunscreen and appropriate work clothing, as well as bring their own water and snacks. Tools to clean litter will be provided.

Free bus and light rail rides are available the day of the event, courtesy of SacRT.

ECOS Letter to State Lands Commission re gas pipeline

On March 27, 2023, ECOS submitted a comment letter to the State Lands Commission on the potential impacts, burdens, or benefits resulting from the issuance of a 20-year lease renewal for a horizontal directionally drilled, 12-inch-diameter highpressure natural gas pipeline lease No. 8450, between Brannan Island in Sacramento County and the Montezuma Hills in Solano County.
