We need lots of volunteers. You’ll meet new people, learn, and network with others. Pick a shift and be there! All volunteers receive a free Sacramento Earth Day T-Shirt!
Help us recruit volunteers. It takes many of us to make Sacramento Earth Day happen. Ask your friends, family members, colleagues, neighbors, and fellow students to visit this page and sign up with you on the Volunteer Sign-up Form at the bottom of this page.
Volunteer Shifts
We need the most help for the Early Bird and Breakdown shifts.
7:30-8:30 AM EARLY BIRDS
Ten strong people who want a good physical workout. Duties include unloading tables and chairs from the truck.
8:00-11:00 AM SQUIRRELS
Twenty people who want some good exercise and lots of people interaction. Duties:
- unfold and place the tables and chairs in each booth site
- set up the four ECOS tents and the water station
- drive golf carts; load exhibitors materials onto golf carts and transport them to booth sites, then unload the materials
11:00-4:00 PM ANTELOPES
Thirty-two people who love interacting with attendees. Duties:
- 8 for PARK ENTRANCES – Greet attendees at Park Entrances. Handout park plan (exhibitor vendor directory) and the QR code for digital park plan. Guide attendees to special exhibits and the food vendors.
- 4 for ECOS HEADQUARTERS TENTS – Help run the event! Provide information about the event to attendees, deliver messages, maintain organization of volunteer supplies and ECOS materials. Sell T-shirts.
- 20 for WASTE STATIONS – Educate attendees on proper waste diversion. Teach people lessons that can last a lifetime and will help our planet tremendously. Help attendees choose which receptacle is most appropriate for their “garbage” – recycling, compost or landfill.
4:00-6:00 PM ELEPHANTS
Eighty people needed for the Breakdown Shift. It’s a workout! Please volunteer for this shift.
- 60 strong people to fold tables and chairs, carry and lift them into the truck; take down and pack the ECOS tents.
