Phase out single-use plastics in California!
RSVP to TAKE ACTION in Sacramento
WHY: This year, we introduced the most comprehensive state bill to tackle plastic pollution in U.S. history. SB 54/AB 1080 would drive massive reductions in single-use plastic in California and create a blueprint for a zero-waste future, but it needs support ahead of crunch votes!
WHERE: Raley’s landing, River Walk Park (river side of the Ziggurat building), West Sacramento.
WHEN: 10 am, Saturday, May 11th 2019.
WHAT: We’re organizing Brand Audit mobilizations in key districts across the state, and inviting legislators and local media to attend – that’s why we need you there too! A Brand Audit is a public litter cleanup with a healthy dose of citizen science. clean up your community and demonstrate to legislators how much single-use plastic ends up in the environment and why they must play their part in reducing single-use plastic by supporting SB 54/AB1080. It’s time to demand bold action to address plastic pollution. Let’s #breakfreefromplastic!
The Story of Stuff Project community will meet at 10am to begin collecting plastic litter around Riverwalk Park. We are inviting local media and state representatives to join us in front of the Capitol Building around noon to confront the problem of single-use plastic pollution! We should be finished between 12:30 and 1 pm (children and pet friendly!).
