The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) provides transportation planning and funding for the region, and serves as a forum for the study and resolution of regional issues. In addition to preparing the region’s long-range transportation plan, SACOG approves the distribution of affordable housing in the region and assists in planning for transit, bicycle networks, clean air and airport land uses. The SACOG Transportation Committee is composed of eleven members, one ex-officio, appointed from the SACOG Board and the Caltrans District 3 Director to review all items relating to transportation issues with Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), State Implementation Plan (SIP) and the Service Authority for Freeways and Expressways (SAFE) program. Join the SACOG Transportation Committee for a meeting on March 1, 2018 at 10:00 am at SACOG Room TBD, 1415 L Street, Suite 300, Sacramento, CA.
