A Sac State Renaissance Society Seminar Course
• SCIENCE: Basic climate science (how our climate system works); climate history; the expert scientific consensus on human-caused global warming, including detection, risks and impacts.
• IMPACTS: The Big-5 Carbon Polluters: (U.S., China, EU, India, Russia); how ongoing climate change is affecting extreme & unpredictable events: e.g.- temperature, rainfall, hurricanes, wildfires, sea level rise.
• POLITICS: How politics has shaped the climate change discussion and will do so in the future.
• SOLUTIONS: The Paris Climate Agreement; why our Military is taking this VERY seriously; alternative energy sources; geo-engineering, economic and policy solutions; and how EACH OF US can make a difference… locally, and globally.
• INSTRUCTORS: This course will be taught by a team of nationally known and respected, peer published environmental scientists who have spent their careers studying the influence of humans on our local, regional and global environment, and are committed to making our planet a better place to live for future generations. Please join us for an exciting and inspiring series of educational lectures and group discussions on this HOT topic! We promise NOT to overwhelm you: Our goal is to help lay people, as well as professionals from diverse backgrounds better understand and deal with this complex topic.

Unsure about joining the course? Attend the first two lectures for free before signing up. The only cost is a $100 membership fee to the Renaissance Society, which also provides access to ALL other Renaissance classes for one year. CSUS campus parking is an additional $20.
