Backyard Beekeeping for the Absolute Beginner: Virtual Workshop

May 23, 2020 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Online Event

Are you thinking about starting a backyard hive, curious about what’s involved in beekeeping or just want to learn more about honey bees? Are you a beginner level beekeeper with 1 – 3 years experience? Have you recently installed a package or nuc and ready to move your beekeeping skills to the next level?

Backyard Beekeeping for the Absolute Beginner ($25/person) is a great introductory class to prepare yourself for beekeeping and learn skills to keep bees healthy. The workshop is designed for absolute beginners, no prerequisite knowledge is required. You can easily jump in knowing absolutely nothing about bees and leave with practical knowledge, ready to get started with your own backyard hive.

This class will focus on hobbyist beekeeping practices in an urban setting, skills to make sure you know all of your options to keep your bees healthy, troubleshooting hive issues and what to expect during the first year(s) of beekeeping.

This workshop is virtual and will be facilitated through Zoom. A recording of the workshop will be provided to participants. Thank you to Soil Born Farms and Sacramento Natural Foods Co-Op for partnering to help facilitate this class.
