Join us for a bike ride around Sacramento neighborhoods to see what people have done to reduce their carbon footprint at home and in their lifestyles.
We’ll meet at Sacramento Bicycle Kitchen at 11:30am (1/2 block north of I street, look for the train tracks between 19th and 20th Streets). Participants must show their EventBrite ticket to receive a map of the tour. We’ll start promptly at 12:00pm, ride at your own pace or together in groups.
At each location on the tour, homeowners will discuss the various sustainable aspects that help to reduce their carbon footprint, including: greywater and permaculture design, aquaponics, solar, energy efficient home appliances and retrofits, bicycle fleets for family bike commuting, beekeeping, drought tolerant landscaping, electric vehicle charging, and more!
Don’t forget to bring your own snacks and water. You can fill up your tires and take care of any last minute tune-ups at the Sacramento Bike Kitchen before the tour begins. Always remember bike safety first!
On this ride you’ll be able to log 21 miles for the May Is Bike Month challenge! If you haven’t already done so, you can register at mayisbikemonth dot com. Don’t have a team? Join ours! Choose “350 Sacramento” for your team when you register, and send us a note at info [at] 350sacramento [dot] org so we can notify you of details for this ride and many more throughout the month of May.
