The Environmental Council of Sacramento Water Committee Presents

Wild Salmon in the Lower American River: What is being done to improve their survival

Join us for a conversation about the work that has been done to improve in-river flows and temperature, and what is planned to develop and maintain fish habitat for spawning adults and rearing young Chinook salmon in the lower American River. Combining flow actions, habitat improvements, and best-available science is essential to improve conditions for our native salmon during spawning and outmigration. The presenters will also highlight research evaluating the effectiveness of current habitat and science initiatives, and outline near‑term priorities for continued progress.

We will cover our current goals that involve climate change prevention, promoting infill over sprawl development, transit, habitat protection, and the wise use of water resources, among others.
