Living Green is Second Nature
Each year, the Environmental Council of Sacramento (ECOS) coordinates Sacramento Earth Day. Over 150 organizations and businesses exhibit a vast array of practical information, goods and services that cultivate a healthier and more sustainable way of living. We also host a variety of live music, entertainers, healthy cuisine and fun activities for all, including a children’s area. Admission is free and we anticipate more than 4,000 attendees. One of ECOS’ primary goals is to educate community members on the need to reduce the footprint of our daily lives and preserve the planet for future generations. Sacramento Earth Day is an important tool for working toward this goal. The theme this year is Living Green is Second Nature!

Event-wide Sustainable Waste Diversion System
Compliments of Urban Sustainable Solutions, we have a system in place to get as close to zero waste as possible within the constraints of our city’s systems. This includes the option to compost and recycle at each station for waste disposal, and a volunteer at each station to help everyone learn more about reducing the amount of waste that we all send to the landfill.
With so many groups present, you can expect to meet like-minded individuals and network with potential collaborators.
Over 150 Exhibitors!
Each year we enjoy over 150 exhibits on display at Sacramento Earth Day. These include community organizations, local nonprofits, artisan crafts, and vendors of products that help people live more sustainably.
