Local Farmers' Market
Here are some tips for your farmer’s market experience:
- Dress accordingly. These markets are outdoors, make sure to dress according to the weather and wear comfy shoes.
- Bring shopping bags. This is good for the environment and keeps costs down for the farmer. Bags made out of cloth work best since they are easy to fold up and wear well.
- Bring carts and strollers. Use your baby’s stroller or bring a folding cart to carry around items. You will accumulate goodies quickly and they can get heavy.
- Bring small bills and change. Small bills and change are very appreciated and speed up the transaction process.
- Ask the farmer questions. Farmers know about their product and will most likely have an answer for your question.
Although we are in the midst of winter, there are farmer’s markets open all year that we can visit. Farmer’s markets are not a thing of warm months (although it makes it easier to get out of bed). Visit a farmer’s market this weekend!
